Tea Time

Next week, Wednesday, Oct 27, 2010 at 2:30PM it’s tea time at The Poppy Residences and this is your invitation to come by and join us. The tea will be held in our lounge. It will be an opportunity to experience life as a resident. An opportunity to introduce yourself to us and us to you.

Tea time is a tranquil time to commiserate with the friends, both old and new. A chance to tour and maybe find a new home more suitable to this stage of your life. To find a more active and healthy environment to live in.

All of this is to found here at The Poppy Residences. We look forward to meeting you and enjoying a cup of tea together.

Welcome to The Poppy Page

To some the poppy is a symbol of effort and sacrifice, but in the case of The Poppy Residences, it is a word that resonates with warmth and compassion, friendship and caring, understanding and support. In the world of Independent living those words symbolize what our little community is all about.

We have only seventy homes to offer within our community and we’re already a third full in the first six weeks of being open. With more people coming in for a tour every week, being full is not that far away. Conveniently located in the centre of Burnaby, The Poppy Residences offer access to all our residences needs. Shopping, medical services, transportation and recreation are all near by.

But mostly this intimate community of peers offers health, well being and companionship. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are engaging moments of friendship making the experience completely enjoyable.

It is a community with a full time activity director. Why, because this is a community that demands activity and engagement. They are not here to idly while away the days, they want to do things. So we make sure that call is answered.

The Poppy Resdiences were created by the members of Burnaby’s Legion 83. It was created with themselves in mind. And because of that thinking you will find your home is built to exacting standards. It is that kind of thinking that went into our main kitchen which serves both the legion and the residences. We pride ourselves in the vareity of meals and the standard of service offered believing it to be second to none.

Another part of Legion 83 and their planning was a focus to affordability. And as those living here will tell you, by comparison we are very affordable. All of this makes us confident that the quality, affordability and location will stand well against all the others.
